You need content, well we all need it but if like me, you've spent hours wondering what to plan and how to execute it then hopefully this article will help.
What is quality content?
That is a tricky one, defining what you believe is quality content can be difficult. However, it really is a unique piece of text or media that delivers value to your customer base. Therefore you must have a full understanding of your customer base.
The easiest way to come up with content ideas is to ask yourself the following five questions. So get yourself a cup of tea and consider your answers to the following questions, and in turn, you'll have your content topic ideas!
What's the trend?
If you can work out which articles, blogs, media posts within our industry are being discussed and shared with the online community then surely it would help you to know what kind of content to produce? Of course!
You'll need to put a unique spin on it all, or of course, present the information that may be similar in a different manner.
So, how do you find out this information? Thankfully there are so many tools out there to do the hard work for you. I would strongly recommend you go onto "think with Google" and use their fantastic free resources Think with Google - Discover Marketing Research & Digital Trends. Click on tools and you'll see lots of tools to help you gain more market knowledge and understanding.
Another fantastic site is www.buzzsumo.com where you can search topics, keywords to easily discover content.
What are your customers asking?
When your customers visited you in the shop, what were they asking? The same principle applies online, what are they asking you on a regular basis? However, if you don't have enough information to hand, get on Google and start finding forums that match your offerings. From there you'll be able to see peoples questions.
Can you find a gap?
On other articles, we have discussed making your online content unique and if I could offer any advice is spin it. Only when you are ready, but spin away. If you look at what other people are doing, do something completely different. Mix it in with mirroring, but start creating your own market share by being unique and independent.
Use your voice
How long have you been in your industry? months, years? are you purely online or both? Share away, you'll have interesting insights that others won't. Think about your experiences over time, and talk about it. Create a blog, regular posts etc. The point is, get your thoughts out. Your customers will appreciate your unique content.
What do you want to see?
I know, how obvious! But what appeals to you? what posts do you like? Once you've nailed that down, start doing it in your own content.
